Phyllis Fonseca, LICSW
Phyllis Fonseca has been affiliated with the Wheelock Counseling Center since 2005. She is currently a senior staff clinician and intern supervisor. Prior to joining Wheelock, Phyllis worked in community based organizations focused on juvenile justice and youth leadership development and in college settings as a clinician, administrator and graduate school faculty. Work settings included the Roxbury District Court Clinic, City Year, Counseling and Health Services at Salem State College and the Simmons College School of Social Work.
Phyllis enjoys working with college students because she believes that counseling and support services during the young adult years can make significant differences in a student's life beyond the college years. Her areas of special interest include working with students of color, those who are the first in their family to attend college, students with family concerns and coping with grief and loss.
