STEM in the City Summer Program 2018

Registration is now open for STEM in the City, Wheelock's annual, highly rated summer program that combines daily field excursions to STEM-related sites with related classroom lab activities. Campers are also introduced to college life and academics through campus tours featuring Wheelock's classrooms, residence halls, library, theatre, dining hall, multicultural center, and other campus buildings.
This year's program will be held July 16-27, 2018. One- and two-week options are available.
Program Ranked as 'Top Performer'
STEM in the City was named in 2017 as top performing summer program by Boston After School & Beyond (BASB) and Boston Summer Learning Community, a partnership created to foster innovation in summer learning. STEM in the City, which is open to rising 8th and 9th grade students, was evaluated and rated as a top performer among other summer programs in:
- Organization of activities
- Nature of Activities
- Staff building relationships and support for individual youth
- Youth relations with peers
- Staff promotion of engagement and stimulating thinking
- Level of youth participation
Register for any of the following one- or two-week options:
Week 1: July 16 - July 20, 2018. The week's focus is environmental sciences and health sciences
Week 2: July 23 - July 27, 2018. The week's focus is marine sciences and space sciences
