New Student Clubs

February 07, 2011

There are two new student clubs at Wheelock that celebrate the diversity among students: The Black Student Union and La Herencia Latina.

Black Student Union
The Black Student Union was launched at Wheelock in May 2010. Its mission is to foster a cohesive sense of community among students of the African Diaspora. The goal is to stimulate intellectual, political, social, and cultural awareness among all students. This group also serves as a resource for other clubs, social organizations, and the community. Event plans for this organization include poetry nights, festivals, workshops, culture nights, movies and lectures.

La Herencia Latina
La Herencia Latina was launched at Wheelock in May 2010. Its mission is to develop an environment that supports its members socially and academically. This club embraces Latino heritage and history, and integrates it into Wheelock campus life. The ultimate goal is to create a campus environment that understands, respects and legitimizes Latino culture.
