Streaming Video Collections
You can access over 80,000 videos via the Library's subscriptions to several online streaming video collections.
Alexander Street Press and Kanopy offer documentaries, films, and demonstration videos that span several dozen subjects. Videatives offers video clips for early childhood education and child development.
There are also free video resources online:
- The Annenberg Learner Video Series provides professional development videos for teachers.
- YouTube EDU brings together educational videos covering a wide range of topics, from basic grammar concepts to racial inequality in the 21st century.
The College also has access to Lynda.com, an online education website which offers on-demand video courses on business, creative, and software skills.
The Library and Earl Center have three physical DVD collections. The titles in these collections support the College curriculum.
- Floor 1: Our main collection, which circulate for 7 days to current Wheelock students, faculty, and staff only, are located by the desk. High-demand videos that circulate for 24 hours to current Wheelock students, faculty, and staff only are behind the desk.
- Earl Center: children's collection, circulate for 21 days to current Wheelock students, faculty, and staff only
Requesting DVDs (faculty and staff only)
The Library offers current Wheelock College faculty and staff the opportunity to reserve DVDs from our physical collection for classes, presentations, or for preview. To submit your request, you may fill out the Video Request Form or call the Library directly at 617-879-2222.
