We Teach the Art of Human Possibility
At Wheelock, our mission is to improve the lives of children and families—as teachers, advocates, social workers, and agents of change. And for over 125 years, we've been doing just that, in the heart of Boston and around the world.
Because our work is not easy, we ask: Are You Tough Enough to Inspire a World of Good? It takes determination, patience, commitment, resilience, teamwork, and passion. It takes someone special.
Our students arrive at Wheelock with a desire to make a difference. And we give them the tools they need to succeed in whatever path they choose: Rigorous academics, distinguished faculty who also serve as mentors, real-world experiences, and individually tailored academic support.
Our founder, Lucy Wheelock, believed in social justice and in focusing on people's areas of strength to help them grow. In short, she believed in teaching the art of human possibility. It's the approach we take with our students and it's the way our grads tackle the challenges they face in schools, nonprofits, radio stations, hospitals, and startups around the world.
It's hard work. But it's incredibly rewarding.
So, are you one of us?
Are you Tough Enough to inspire a world of good?
