February 07, 2018
Diane Levin, Professor of Early Childhood Education at Wheelock College and an author of two books on the effects of media on children, spoke to a crowd of about 50 residents at a recent Town Hall hosted by the Needham Human Rights Committee, providing guidelines on how to care for your children in a world filled with seemingly endless violence.
"Children try to figure out the meaning of violence, but based on their level of development they are going to make different meanings of the violence than adults, and it's going to influence their thoughts, feelings and behavior," Levin said.
Levin provided 10 helpful tips for parents during her presentation.
