Details Announced for 130th Commencement

Dr. Eric G. Bing Will Address Graduates
Wheelock College will honor four distinguished scholars and education leaders at its 2018 Commencement ceremonies on May 18. The undergraduate program will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the graduate program will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Both programs will take place at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline.
Honorary degree recipients include:
- Dr. Eric G. Bing, Professor of Global Health, and Founding Director of the Institute for Leadership Impact and the Center for Global Health Impact, at Southern Methodist University
- Evelyn B. Hausslein, Founding Director of SUPPORTbrokers and co-founder of Wheelock's Child Life program
- Toby Congleton Milner '70, Founder of the Lillydale Literacy Project in South Africa
- Dr. Pedro A. Noguera, Distinguished Professor of Education at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles
Dr. Eric G. Bing will speak at both the undergraduate and graduate Commencement ceremonies.
Wheelock College's 2018 Commencement represents more than the accomplishments of the 2018 graduates. President David Chard notes, "This event also represents the end of an era as the final commencement of Wheelock as an independent institution, and an opportunity for us to celebrate our 130 years of improving the lives of children and families as we look forward to the next chapter."
