Welcome to Wheelock Magazine on the Web! Here you will find the latest news on how Wheelock students, faculty, and alumni are helping to "Inspire a World of Good."
For the Summer 2017 edition, we celebrate a season of new beginnings for Wheelock, with stories about the inauguration of President David J. Chard, Commencement 2017, and the welcoming of new Vice President for Academic Affairs Mary Church.
We also tell you about Lenette Azzi-Lessing, professor of Social Work and a newly minted Fulbright Scholar, who makes a compelling case for policy change in her book Behind from the Start: How America's War on the Poor is Harming Our Most Vulnerable Children. The magazine also features an article about the re-launch of Wheelock's acclaimed Birth to Three: Infant, Toddler & Family Specialist master's degree program, an essay on the value of mindfulness by retiring Social Work Assistant Professor Deborah Lisansky Beck, and a wrap up of this year's hugely successful Wheelock Giving Day.
You will also find articles on:
- Meilin Chong '17, who earned a Fulbright award to spend 10 months in Ecuador teaching English to university students and conducting research in bilingual education.
- Wheelock's STEM in the City Summer Camp program, which is entering its third year
- The reorganization of Wheelock's academic programs into three schools
- Photos from Reunion Weekend 2017
- And much more!
The Magazine also shines a Spotlight on other students, faculty, and alumni who are making a difference, as well as updates about your former classmates in the Class Notes section.
