Reunion - General Information
Planning to join us for Reunion? Here's a quick guide to help you plan all the details of your visit. If you have a question that isn't answered below, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 617-879-2286.
Q: What kinds of things will we do during our Reunion?
A: We are still working to finalize the schedule for Reunion Weekend. It should be posted online by February. In the past, alumni have enjoyed luncheons, dinners, tours of local museums, a kayaking excursion, Duck Tours, Pops concerts, Red Sox games, Fenway Park tours, Wheelock Family Theatre performances, faculty workshops, tours of campus, etc.
Q: Can I bring my children? Is Reunion kid-friendly?
A: Although many of our alumni typically consider it a weekend away from the kids, children are welcome at many of the events. Please do let us know if you are planning to bring children by calling 617-879-2286.
Q: When can I register?
A: The formal registration booklet for Reunion will be mailed in March. However, we understand that some people like to make travel plans in advance, so we will do our best to continue updating the website frequently.
Q: When is the deadline for registration and why do I need to register?
A: The deadline for registering is typically mid-May. It is very important that you register for Reunion by the deadline so we are able to accommodate you for housing and meals. We will publish the list of "Who's Coming to Reunion" on our website, so please check back in March.
Q: I'm interested in coming back for Reunion but not sure what events I should plan to attend. Any advice?
A: The Class Reunion Coordinators are hard at work to plan a memorable weekend. We know from experience that the majority of attendees are on campus for the Saturday afternoon class luncheon and the special Saturday evening class dinners. Many come Friday evening for the Wheelock Family Theatre Cabaret and class get-togethers on campus.
Q: What are the on-campus accommodations like?
A: On-campus accommodations are convenient for all Reunion activities and available for all alumni and their guests. On-campus lodging makes it easier for you to spend time with your classmates because each class is housed in a section of a residence hall. Guests will stay in the Campus Center and Student Residence and the recently renovated Riverway House. Keep in mind that the rooms are college dorm rooms, so they will not have the same amenities as a hotel. However, you will be close to all the action and we provide competitive rates!
Q: How are on-campus accommodations assigned?
A: If you register for on-campus housing, you will be housed with the rest of your class unless otherwise requested.
Q: How do you handle special rooming requests?
A: If you wish to be assigned to a room close to (a) particular classmate(s), you and the other member(s) of your party must make that request on your registration form. If you have other special requests, you will need to call 617-879-2286. We will do our best to accommodate them.
Q: How do I access my room?
A: When you arrive on-campus, visit the registration area in the Campus Center (150 Riverway) and you will be given a key to your room. Upon checkout, please return your key to the registration area.
Q: Can I stay at a hotel?
A: Yes. Find out more about local hotels here.
Q: What should I expect from a dorm room?
A: Accommodations are modest as they are college dormitories. However, most alumni report that it's all about the experience and embrace being back to college again!
Q: What is in the dorm room?
A: Each room comes with one set of sheets, one small pillow, a light blanket, a light towel, a washcloth, and a small bar of soap. We recommend that you bring coat hangers, a small mirror, an extra blanket, and an alarm clock as the rooms do not come equipped with these. If your own pillow, towel, or a fan would make you most comfortable, please consider bringing those items.
Q: What should I pack?
A: Summer weather in Boston can be unpredictable. Pack casual clothes, a sweater or sweatshirt (the campus store is open during the weekend if you're in the market for new Wheelock College gear!), comfortable shoes, an outfit for the sunny (we hope) Class procession and luncheon, an outfit for your festive class dinner, and rain gear (just in case).
