Billie Starks, LICSW, is a graduate of Smith College School for Social Work ('09), and has been delighted to work with Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program for the last five years.
She continues to work at BHCHP part time as a behavioral health clinician specializing in the treatment of trauma and substance use disorder. She served as the Director of Behavioral Health at BHCHP for two years and is energized and excited about the practice of integrated behavioral health in medical settings. She feels very fortunate for all she has learned about high quality service delivery systems for underserved populations in various settings.
During her time at BHCHP, she had the great pleasure of supervising master's level students, and teaching a summer intensive course, Addictions in Health Care Settings at Wheelock in the summer of 2015. She will now be a full-time faculty member at Wheelock College, spearheading a post-graduate certificate program for Integrated Behavioral Health in partnership with the Mass League of Community Health Centers.
She will continue to sustain her energy and enthusiasm for social justice, teaching, and clinical practice with long distance running, meditation, and a commitment to self-care.
