Kathy McDonough is an Assistant Professor and field supervisor in the Elementary and Special Education programs. She primarily teachers courses related to literacy, curriculum design, and teacher identity and the sociopolitical context of schools. Prior to joining Wheelock, she was a classroom teacher, a literacy specialist, and taught in Lesley University's national programs.
She holds a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the school of education's language, literacy and culture program. Her doctoral work primarily focused on the political consciousness of teachers.
