Child Life Specialist Licensure
Certification as a Child Life Specialist is available through the Association of Child Life Professionals. To become a certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), a student must pass an examination that is administered by the association. To be eligible to take the examination, the student must have received a baccalaureate degree or be in the final semester of study toward a baccalaureate degree.
All eligibility requirements must be completed by the time of application to take the examination. Once eligibility is approved, the student may take the certification examination. The student may take this exam as many times as he or she needs to pass it, as long as the current eligibility requirements are met.
