Office of Academic Affairs
Wheelock's mission—improving the lives of children and families—fuels the work of our faculty members and informs every action and initiative undertaken by the Office of Academic Affairs.
We are a caring community that prides itself on the level of academic rigor in our classrooms, the professional accomplishments of our faculty, and our entire campus's commitment to excellence and continuous innovation.
Our faculty members are leaders in their fields of expertise who are recognized as both successful scholars and gifted teachers. More than 80 percent hold the highest available degree in their field. Just as importantly, they are committed to working closely with students and to building deep mentoring relationships with them. Our faculty guide students through field experiences and offer a range of opportunities, including service learning around the globe, leadership development, and undergraduate and graduate research projects.

Education Trends and Research
In addition to the research being conducted by individual faculty members and at Wheelock's prestigious centers and institutes, we closely monitor outside research, as well as education trends and public policy shifts that may affect the education field. This information helps strengthen our existing programs and develop new academic offerings that meet growing societal needs.
Timely Events and Programs
Wheelock sponsors conferences, seminars, visiting scholars, and other events designed to share our resources with the Greater Boston community and even beyond.
