Catastrophic Weather Events Teach-in

The Colleges of the Fenway (COF) Center for Sustainability and the Environment and Wheelock College's Center for Scholarship and Research co-sponsored a teach-in focusing on catastrophic weather events.

Henderson Pritchard of Wentworth InstituteCOF students and faculty filled an entire classroom at Wheelock College to learn more about the impact of climate change on weather-related events. Presentations by Henderson Pritchard of Wentworth Institute (pictured at left), Michael Berger of Simmons College, and Chuck Fidler of Wheelock College began the event.

Wheelock College student Andrew St. LouisA personal touch was added when Wheelock Students Allie Goyette and Andrew St. Louis (pictured at right) shared pictures and stories of how recent severe weather has impacted their lives. A discussion between faculty and students alike ensued, and a great deal of knowledge and information was shared.

The next teach-in will occur on March 28, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. and the topic will be the impacts of climate change on food availability and sustainability.
