Volunteers Refurbish Mattahunt Center

October 07, 2011

Wheelock College staff and student-athletes made the trip to the Mattahunt Community Center in Mattapan recently to help the Boston Celtics CommUNITY Crew and City Year volunteers refurbish the indoor and outdoor facilities of the center to provide a fun and safe learning environment for students.

The volunteers spent the day painting murals on school walls, building an outdoor classroom, restoring a basketball court, and organizing the school's library. Wheelock College has led the redevelopment of the Mattahunt Community Center for over a year.  The center's official reopening date is October 13, 2011.
