SPARK the Truth

After attending Wheelock’s Youth Symposium “Bridges to Hope and Understanding: Exploring Truth and Reconciliation” with Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, students from Boston Public Schools were inspired to form a community action assembly composed of young people from their own communities. Building upon a speech delivered at the symposium by Pharlone Toussaint, the students named their budding organization “SPARK the Truth.”  The BPS students were invited back to the Wheelock campus for a Youth Leadership Summit in November where they developed the mission statement for SPARK the Truth and defined their goals.
