New Executive Director of Wheelock College-Singapore

Dr. Trisha Craig, Executive Director Wheelock College–SingaporeWheelock announced the appointment of Dr. Trisha Craig as Executive Director Wheelock College-Singapore, effective October 1, 2012.

Dr. Craig spent the past 15 years at Harvard University, where she served for seven years as Executive Director of the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies. A highly accomplished administrator and scholar, Dr. Craig was responsible for the strategic and academic leadership of this renowned research center. In this capacity, she worked across Harvard's schools to create programs, seminars, conferences and research projects. She worked with external constituencies in academia private, nonprofit and government sectors and built strong links with European alumni creating internships abroad.

Prior to leading the Center for European Studies, Dr. Craig was a research and policy associate at the Harvard Institute for International Development from 1997 to 2001. Her policy advocacy and scholarly research in international development included work in the fields of education and health care reform, poverty reduction, infrastructure, quality of life, and governance. This work took her across the globe, from the El Salvador Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Finance in China.

Dr. Craig's multi-country field work studying rural Asian environments culminated in a book, The Quality of Life in Rural Asia. She is currently writing a book on the growth of higher education globally.

Dr. Craig has held teaching appointments at Pablo de Olavide University in Seville, Spain, at Harvard Extension School's Certificate in Technology Program, and at Ohio State University. Her vast international experience and administrative expertise allows her to combine a talent for institutional growth and development with care and a focus on meeting the needs of diverse students and partners.

Dr. Craig has published extensively, including authoring or co-authoring eleven books. She has published numerous reports, journal articles, and book reviews. She is a sought after speaker, lecturing in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Dr. Craig is a graduate of Swarthmore College and holds two degrees from Yale University: a Master of Arts in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Sociology awarded with distinction.
