Together for Quality Coaches Needed
December 15, 2010
Coordinated by the Aspire Institute of Wheelock College, Together for Quality (TQ4) is a new statewide collaboration designed to advance Massachusetts' Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS). The QRIS, created by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), rates the quality of early education and out-of-school-time (OST) programs. Families can use it to compare and select high-quality programs for their children.
The Aspire Institute at Wheelock College will recruit, train, and assign 26 field coaches to work directly with programs receiving QRIS program improvement grants in regions across Massachusetts.
Based on this coaching program and training model, Wheelock will then collaborate with EEC to develop an ongoing QRIS Field Coach Certificate Program, with the goal of training future groups of coaches, and assess and document effective coaching practices.
Applications to become a field coach must be submitted no later than December 31, 2010. For more information about how to apply to become a field coach or about the T4Q program, please visit www.wheelock.edu/t4q.
TQ4 is a collaboration among the EEC and three of the state's leading early education and OST organizations: Wheelock College, the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley (UWMBMV), and the Community Advocates for Young Learners (CAYL) Institute.
