Parent Association

The Wheelock College Parent and Family Association is re-forming and we invite your participation. Membership to the Parent and Family Association is a benefit for all family members of Wheelock College students.

The Parent and Family Association was created to give parents and family members an opportunity to become involved in their student’s Wheelock experience. Through the Parent and Family Association, there will also be a vehicle for open dialogue with members of the Wheelock faculty and administration and an opportunity to voice the needs and concerns of our families.

Become A Member

Members of the Parent and Family Association will have the benefit of staying informed on important College issues through email news updates, receiving a free subscription to Wheelock magazine, meeting other Wheelock College families, participating in College events, and providing feedback to members of the Wheelock College Leadership Team. To become a member, just fill out the membership form and submit it electronically.

Volunteering within the Parent and Family Association

Volunteering within the Parent and Family Associations is one of the best ways to become involved! Here are some of the opportunities in which volunteers can choose to participate:

• Write letters to families of newly accepted students in your area;
• Identify yourself as a Wheelock contact with your area high school and serve as a resource to prospective families and students;
• Assist with the development, planning and implementation of Fall Family Weekend activities;
• Host lunch tables and panels for families during Summer and Fall Orientation;
• Write articles and updates for the Parent and Family area of the Wheelock College website;
• Support athletics by attending athletic events and coordinating tailgate parties, events for parents of prospective and current athletes, and senior day activities;
• Sponsor internship or career shadowing opportunities for current students.
  

Parent and Family Council

The Parent and Family Council is a leadership group of parents who will coordinate the activities of the Parent and Family Association. The Council will be expected to conduct two meetings each year and chair a sub-committee of volunteers. The Council will set the direction for activities and provide outreach to all Wheelock College parent and family members, foster involvement, and recruit new volunteers. Members of the Council will be appointed to a one-year term, renewable for their student’s duration at the College.
