Students Selected for Grad Visit Program
November 06, 2013
Five Wheelock students were selected to participate in the Purdue University Multicultural/Historically Black Institution (HBI) Visitation Program. The students are Guillermo Caballero, Ivan Jackson, Orbelina Erazo, Mary McNeil, and Kate Tejada.
The HBI Visitation Program provides the opportunity for outstanding, undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing graduate studies to visit the Purdue University campus.
Students selected to participate in this program have relatively high GPAs and a strong likelihood of gaining admission to one of Purdue University's outstanding graduate programs. During the all-expenses three-day visit, students tour campus facilities, receive a comprehensive view of departmental programs, and meet with faculty, administrators, and graduate students.
To date, 111 HBI participants have earned doctoral degrees, and another 225 have completed master's degrees.
