Meet the Resident Assistants
Each living environment is headed by a professional Resident Director (RD) and staffed by student Resident Assistants (RAs), who represent the general philosophies and policies of the Student Life Office. RAs, along with the Residence Life staff, are committed to serving as a resource and guide for Wheelock students as they navigate the transitions and challenges they may face at college.
John Hathaway (Riverway Garden Level) - John is the Resident Assistant on the Garden Level of Riverway House. He is a sophomore at Wheelock and is double majoring in Environmental Studies and Elementary Education. John is 21 years old and from Stratham, NH. He is involved with multiple clubs on campus, including: FLOW (Fundamental Lyricists Of Wheelock), Whee-SEA (Wheelock Students for Environmental Action), as well as the Admissions Ambassadors. In his free time he enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and watching some Breaking Bad at the end of a long day. This is his first year as a Resident Assistant and he is very excited about this year.
Guillermo Caballero (Riverway 1) - Guillermo Caballero is a senior this year, majoring in American Studies with a double minor in Elementary Education and Political Science. Guillermo is also the President of La Herencia Latina, outreach and co-founder of Fundamental Lyricist of Wheelock (FLOW) and he is a spoken word artist in Boston. He wants to continue his education to work for a Master's and eventually earn a Doctorate in American Studies with a focus in Political Science. Guillermo is passionate about the work he does in and out of the Wheelock Community.
Lissa Piercy (Riverway 2) - Lissa Piercy is originally from Washington, DC, but transferred to Wheelock College after earning her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts at Landmark College in Putney, Vermont. At Wheelock, Lissa is double majoring in Juvenile Justice and Social Work. In addition to her academic work, Lissa is a performance poet both on and off campus. She co-founded FLOW (the Fundamental Lyricists of Wheelock), is part of a group called Flatline Poetry, and teaches performance poetry to youth in both Roxbury and Charlestown, MA. Lissa could not be more thrilled to be working with the first years of Riverway, and brings energy, enthusiasm, and excitement to her RA role this year!
Jess Grant (Riverway 3) - Jessica Grant is a senior at Wheelock College. Her majors are Social Work and Psychology. This is her third year as an RA and she is very excited to get to know all of the new residents and to reconnect with old ones. Jessica's hobbies include reading, going to the movies, listening to music and hanging out with friends. Jessica is looking forward to making this a great year for both her and all of the Riverway residents.
Lyonel Traversiere (Longwood 1) - Lyonel is a third-year RA, and a senior here at Wheelock. He is studying Counseling Psychology and minoring in Visual Arts. He lived most of his life in the Mattapan area. He currently resides in Randolph, MA.
Sarah Horn (Longwood 2) - Sarah Horn is a first-year Resident Assistant on the second floor of Longwood House. She can also be found in the Towne Art Gallery working as a Gallery Attendant. Sarah is a sophomore from Taunton, MA, majoring in Social Work and Juvenile Justice & Youth Advocacy with a minor in Child Health. She is a proud member of the Wheelock College Honors Program and is currently serving as the Vice President of the Campus Association of Social Workers.
Nural Mohammed (Longwood 3) - Nural is a Senior who is double majoring in Juvenile Justice & Youth Advocacy and Performing Arts with a minor in Communications. She hopes to become a Juvenile Justice Defense Attorney with The UN in the (far) future. Nural is a huge Celtics and Red Sox fan and enjoys going to the beach, attending sporting events, or reading in her spare time. She is also a Public Speaking Coach for the Speaking Center and is president of ALANA. Nural is looking forward to an amazing year ahead and she hopes to make this an even more amazing first year for her residents.
Christina Cubera (Pilgrim 2) - Christina Cubera is a senior at Wheelock. This is her third year serving as an RA in Pilgrim House. Christina is a human development major and has two minors in education and child health. Christina is originally from Baltimore, MD, but Boston has quickly become one of her favorite cities! Christina is a member of the Wheelock Child Life Organization and the woman's lacrosse team. In her free time she likes to watch movies, hang out with friends, and explore the beautiful streets of Boston. Christina is excited to be an RA again this year and can't wait to see what this year has to offer!
Karen Donohoe (Pilgrim 3) - Karen is currently a Junior at Wheelock. She is studying Humanities, with a focus in history, and Elementary Education. She is a new member to the residence life staff and is excited to take on the role. Karen grew up in the seacoast of New Hampshire. Karen's favorite hobbies are skiing, dancing, sailing, and hiking. She is very excited to start the new year and can't wait to be involved in the Wheelock community.
Sara Taveras (Pilgrim 3) - Sara is currently a junior double majoring in social work and juvenile justice. She is very excited to be an RA and hope to be a resource to everyone in her community. She is currently the vice president of La Herencia Latina and looking for more ways to spread diversity across the Wheelock campus. In her spare time, she works out to maintain a healthy body and mind. She loves her family and friends and will do anything to see them smile. She is a Latina who is trying to be successful in life by motivating others to inspire a world of good.
Brittany Langlois (Peabody 1) - Brittany Langlois is a senior at Wheelock this year, majoring in Elementary Education and Human Development with a focus in Counseling Psychology. She is a returning RA, residing on the first floor of Peabody. Brittany is from Chatham, MA. She loves traveling, singing, and going to concerts. Brittany also has a strong passion for helping others, which has allowed her to be involved in many volunteer and leadership opportunities, including the Barbados service learning trip. Brittany is excited for her third year as an RA!
Rachel Meltzer (Peabody 2) - Ray Meltzer is a sophomore majoring in Elementary Education and Political Science with a minor in American Studies with plans to go to graduate school for Public Policy. She is from Fryeburg, ME, and loves the outdoors! In her free time, she enjoys playing her flute and saxophone, playing soccer, and studying. Ray is excited for her first year of being an RA!
Dan Blahnik (Peabody 2) - Dan is a Junior majoring in Counseling Psychology and Early Childhood Education. Dan transferred to Wheelock in 2012 after spending a year at Middlesex Community College. Dan was born in St. Louis, MO, but grew up in Wayland, MA. After graduating high school in 2009, Dan spent two years working for a nonprofit in San Jose, CA. Outside of school he enjoys movies, backpacking, and woodworking. One day, Dan would like to have an enviable movie collection, hike the Pacific Crest Trail, and build his own canoe.
Nasha Macedo (Peabody 3) - Nasha Macedo is the Resident Assistant on the third floor of Peabody Hall. This is Nasha's third year as an RA. Nasha is currently in her senior year at Wheelock College, and is double majoring in Social Work and Counseling Psychology with a minor in Understanding Autism. Nasha is originally from New Bedford, MA. In her free time, Nasha enjoys teaching Zumba at Simmons College Gym, singing, dancing, and just spending time with her family and friends. Nasha is very excited to work with all of her new residents and help them have an outstanding year at Wheelock College!
Louis Curto (Peabody 3) - Louis Curto is a junior at Wheelock studying Special Education and Human Development and Psychology with a focus in Counseling Psych. While this is Louis's first year as an RA, he also works for the Admissions department and plays Lacrosse at Wheelock. Being in Boston is much different than his hometown of Belchertown, MA, but Louis wouldn't rather be anywhere else.
Jessica Hersom (Peabody 4) - Jessica is a junior at Wheelock and this is her first year as an RA. She is majoring in Social Work with a minor in psychology and juvenile justice. She is originally from Maine, but loves the city of Boston! She's been playing soccer and lacrosse most of her life and loves playing for Wheelock! In her free time she loves going out exploring the city with her friends and going to the gym to stay in shape. She can't wait to get to know all of her residents and see what this year has to offer!

Kayla Pulsifer (Campus Center 3&4) - Kayla Pulsifer is originally from Cranston, RI, and is a senior at Wheelock. She is majoring in Human Development with a focus in Developmental Psychology and has a minor in both child health and visual arts. Kayla is currently placed as a Resident Assistant on the third and fourth floor of the Campus Center Student Residence and this is her third year as an RA. Kayla loves exploring the city of Boston with her friends, and going shopping on Newbury Street! Kayla is excited to work with all of her new residents and help make their year a success!
Heather Martin (Campus Center 5) - Heather Martin is a senior at Wheelock and a third-year Resident Assistant in Campu Center! She is majoring in Special Education and Human Growth and Development with a focus in Developmental Psychology. She grew up in Rhode Island and loves living and going to school in Boston. In her free time she likes to spend time with friends, dance, and go to the beach.
Ivan Jackson (Campus Center 6) - A New York City native, Ivan J. Jackson is a senior at Wheelock majoring in Communications and American Studies while minoring in Juvenile Justice and Youth Advocacy. He has proudly served as the president for Wheelock College's Black Student Union for the last three years and still holds that position today. Ivan is currently fulfilling his second term as a resident assistant and is ecstatic to be working with the residents on the sixth floor of the Campus Center and Student Residence. In his free time, Ivan enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, going to the gym, reading, and taking photos.
