Phyllis Fonseca, LICSW
Phyllis Fonseca has worked in college counseling since 1994 and has been affiliated with the Wheelock Counseling Center since 2005 as a clinician, intern supervisor and guest trainer. Prior to joining Wheelock, she was the Associate Director of Counseling and Health Services at Salem State College. More recently she has worked in academia as an associate professor of practice and a student services administrator at the Simmons School of Social Work.
Phyllis enjoys working with college students because she believes that therapeutic support and interventions during the young adult years can make significant differences in a student’s life beyond the college years. Her areas of special interest include working with students of color, those who are the first in their family to attend college, women's issues, students living with depression and students with family concerns.
