Win With Wheelock
Frequently Asked Questions & Rules
What is Win With Wheelock (WWW)?
A team-based competition program series. It is held every Fall semester and only first-year students are eligible to participate.
How does it work?
Earn points for yourself and for your team by attending events and programs that are recognized by WWW organizers. You must sign in to confirm that you attended an event within the first 15 minutes of a program's start time. You may only sign yourself in for an event, and you cannot earn additional points by repeating certain miscellaneous events on the same day, such as asking multiple questions at the same Minute Clinic event.
What can I do with my points?
The individual with the most points at the end of each week wins a prize. For the team with the most points at the end of each week, each person on that team will win a prize. Point totals are calculated weekly (Monday through Sunday) and reset each week for the purpose of awarding individual and team prizes. However, six individuals who earn the most points cumulatively by the end of the competition will also win a grand prize, and the team with the most cumulative points at the end will win a team grand prize.
Who else is on my team?
Your team consists of everyone enrolled in your First Year Seminar and Human Growth & Development learning community. Your student advisor serves as your team captain.
How can I find out about events where I can earn points?
An email will be sent to the Class of 2016 email listserv each Monday, advertising events for the coming week. Additionally, events may be posted on the WWW website, Twitter account (@WinWithWheelock), Involvio app for iPhone or Android devices, or Student Life calendar (Pilgrim Student Center).
How are point values assigned?
Miscellaneous events (not time-sensitive) such as answering trivia, visiting Minute Clinic, or Wear Wheelock Wednesday, carry 1 point each. Select student organization-sponsored events, athletics events, or administrative department events carry 2 points each. Select Wheelock Family Theatre performances, ExploreBoston trips, and community service outings carry 3 points each. Select faculty lectures or academic programs outside of class carry 4 points each. Participating in the Rising Star program, volunteering at Fall Family Weekend, or attending a professional conference carry 5 points each. Bonus point and double- or triple-point opportunities are offered from time to time.
