President Jackie Jenkins-Scott
President, Wheelock College

Jackie Jenkins-Scott became the 13th President of Wheelock College in 2004. Ms. Jenkins-Scott received a B.S. Degree from Eastern Michigan University, an M.S.W. from Boston University School of Social Work, and completed a Postgraduate Research Fellowship at Radcliffe College. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Education from Wheelock College in 2003, when she served as the Commencement speaker. She also holds Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Suffolk University, Northeastern University, Bentley College, and Mount Ida College.
From 1983 until 2004, Ms. Jenkins-Scott served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dimock Community Health Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts. During her tenure at Dimock, Ms. Jenkins-Scott undertook a full evaluation of its real estate resources and completed an ambitious campus renovation program. Dimock is now considered a national model of integrated comprehensive health and human services, owing to Ms. Jenkins-Scott’s strong and visionary leadership. Prior to her appointment at Dimock, Ms. Jenkins-Scott served as Director of the Roxbury Court Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts and held several positions with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Departments of Public and Mental Health. As a community leader, public health advocate, and innovative administrator, she has been a nationally known figure for the past twenty-five years
Joan M. Bergstrom, Ed.D

Joan Bergstrom, an educator, author, and global consultant, has been involved in educational endeavors throughout her career. Her research interests include the Relationship of Children’s School Achievements and their Out-of-School Experiences. Dr. Bergstrom has worked in Singapore on a United Nations Development Program, a four year initiative focused on early childhood, and with the Ministry of Community Development, Youth, and Sports to educate staff on high-quality programs and designing learning environments for children. Dr. Bergstrom’s latest project involves the design of Homework On-Line: Implementing a Quality After-School Homework and Edutainment Program for professionals working with school-aged children to be proficient at creating high quality after-school programs. Dr. Bergstrom is also implementing an OpenCourseWare initiative, a technology-enhanced portal for Wheelock College faculty to post and share course materials globally. Dr. Bergstrom is an author of several books, including School's Out!, All the Best Contests for Kids (5th edition), and The Best Summer Ever. She has contributed to publications such as Educational Leadership, USA Today, Ladies’ Home Journal, and Redbook.
Dr. David FedoExecutive Director and Visiting Scholar

David Fedo, Former Academic Vice President, Dean of Faculty, and Professor of English at Curry College (Milton, Mass., USA) from 1990-2007, had overall responsibility for all of the College’s undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs, including two off-site branch campuses. Prior to his tenure at Curry College, Dr. Fedo was Associate Dean of the Undergraduate College at Bentley College (Waltham, Mass., USA) and Director of the Division of Liberal Arts at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (Boston, Mass., USA). Dr. Fedo has led and served on numerous accreditation visits sponsored by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education. A writer and poet, he has published a book on the American poet William Carlos Williams, articles on business ethics and the humanities in the college curriculum, and poems in numerous periodicals and journals over the past 25 years.

Susan Kosoff co-founded the Wheelock Family Theatre (WFT) in 1981 and is today the Theatre's producer. WFT is nationally known for its pioneering work in nontraditional casting and its commitment to making professional theatre experiences accessible to all segments of the population. Ms. Kosoff has an extensive background in educational and theatrical consulting and has worked with young people and adults in a variety of capacities for over thirty years. A published playwright and author, her work has been performed on stages around the country. Her most recent book is a two-volume set co-written with Sandra Caruso, The Young Actor’s Book of Improvisation: Dramatic Situations from Shakespeare to Spielberg.
Ruth Wong Rue Eu

Ruth Wong, bilingual in English and Mandarin, has experience teaching in local and international settings. Ruth is passionate about teaching, especially in the areas of music and the arts. She worked from 2004-2005 in an international pre-school in Beijing with children aged 18 months to three years. In addition, she often volunteers and shares her experiences with educators from Vietnam, Mongolia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and other countries in the region. She believes in supporting teachers from theory to practice and finding innovative ways to meet the diverse needs of children and families.
Geraldine Zuzarte

Geraldine Zuzarte holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College. She is a Training Specialist with RTRC Asia and an Adjunct Lecturer with Wheelock College. She is also the Centre Director at The Caterpillar’s Cove Child Development and Study Centre. In the area of Early Childhood Education Training, Geraldine specializes in Creativity, Play, Language Arts, Art for Young Children, Infant/Toddler Curriculum Planning, Working with Parents, and Team Building. She was the recipient of the prestigious Khoo Kim Choo Scholarship for the year 2000 and was twice awarded Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Academic Award for Excellence in Teaching, in 2001 and 2006.

Felicity Crawford brings the perspective of an experienced educator who has worked for many years, and at every grade level, in racially and culturally diverse classroom settings. Prior to coming to Wheelock, Dr. Crawford served as Project Coordinator at the University of Massachusetts Boston where she successfully recruited, supervised, and taught several cohorts of master level students seeking dual licensure in special and general education at the secondary level. Her research interests include teacher ideology, the social context of urban special education, and pathways towards effectively transforming the experiences of students from diverse racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds in urban special education classrooms.
Lim Boon Hong

Lim Boon Hong is a Lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic for the Diploma in Psychology and Community Services. Prior to coming to Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Miss Lim worked in a special school with children and youths with intellectual disabilities on areas such as assessment of their cognitive functioning and management of their behavior. During the course of her work with these students, she worked with parents and teachers to help them understand and support these children and/or youths at home and/or in class.
Glen Ng Wei-Cher

Glen Ng Wei-Cher is currently a Lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Humanities. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Honors) from University of Wolverhampton, UK in 1997. In 1998, with a passion to work in the social services industry, he worked as a Special Education Teacher with the Singapore School for the Deaf. From 1999 until April 2006 he was a Senior Probation Officer with Ministry of Community Development, Youth, and Sports (MCYS). During his stay with MCYS, he facilitated and enhanced the Moot Court training to equip probation officers with knowledge of relevant legislation and skills to better handle themselves during cross-examination in Courts. With a Master in Counseling from Monash University, Glen went on to join Rotary Family Service Centre as a Senior Counselor. He oversaw the Centre’s counseling programs as well as provided supervision and guidance to the Centre’s counselors and case-workers. Glen is a Certified Human Behavior Analyst with DISC Personality Profiling Accreditation. He recently completed his Diploma in Clinical Supervision with the Counseling and Care Centre.
Koh Lee Chew

Koh Lee Chew is an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Impact in the Early Childhood Educational Studies and Leadership Program (Singapore). Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. at the National University of Singapore, studying how design and process parameters of biofilm reactors treating wastewater affect the microbial community in a bioreactor. He brings the perspective of a practicing environmental engineer who has worked for eight years at various capacities involving process and engineering design, contracts and tendering, marketing and business development of water and wastewater treatment plants, and consultancy.
Chan Lin Ho

Chan Lin Ho is the Director of the Regional Training & Resource Centre for Asia (RTRC Asia), a subsidiary of NTUC Childcare Cooperative, Singapore's largest single childcare operator. Today, RTRC Asia is the leading provider of training for early childhood education professionals in Singapore, offering a range of professional courses leading to certificate, diploma, degree and post-graduate qualifications. Under Ms. Chan’s leadership, RTRC Asia has grown from a training and consultancy department with three training courses and six hundred students to an independent training and consulting enterprise offering eight training and consultancy programs to more than one thousand students and clients.
Ms. Chan also holds a concurrent appointment as Executive Director of the Caterpillar’s Cove Child Study and Development Centre, and works with a team of committed early childhood teachers and leaders to promote best practices in early childhood care and education.
Ms. Chan holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development from Wheelock College and is also an Adjunct Lecturer with Wheelock College. In 2005, Wheelock College honored her with the President’s Award for her contributions as an outstanding alumna. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral studies (Ed.D.) with the University of Durham (UK). Her current research interest is in the area of parental involvement with preschoolers’ math learning. Her doctoral research examines how parent training can help children with math at home as well as enhance parents’ self efficacy and level of involvement in their children’s learning of mathematics.
Elizabeth Tan

Elizabeth Tan holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College and a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Studies from the University of Melbourne. She has more than 39 years of experience in the early childhood field in Singapore, comprising teaching, supervisory and administrative experience. She has served as an executive committee member in the industry, including the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP Singapore), and Association for Early Childhood Educator Singapore (AECES). She has also been involved in the religious community as a coordinator for the Sunday School for preschoolers.
Being bilingual in English and Mandarin, Elizabeth specializes in teaching in both languages. She is involved in the teaching of courses such as Developing Parent Involvement Programs; Professional Development in Early Childhood Settings; Infant and Toddler Behavior and Development; Practicum for Curriculum Studies; and Administration and Management of Programs for Young Children. She also supervises student teachers in their field practicum.

Susan Harris-Sharples served as the first Dean of Education at Wheelock College. She has taught courses in reading, children's literature, early childhood curriculum and elementary curriculum, and supervised student teachers. She is a recipient of the Edward Ladd Award for exemplary service to Wheelock College. She has published articles and books on teaching reading and writing, and on the readability of written materials. She served on the Massachusetts English Language Arts Curriculum Frameworks Committee. A former elementary classroom teacher, she has taught in California, Virginia, Maryland, and Karachi, Pakistan. She helped found the American International School in Calcutta, India.

Susan Fedo has served as Director of Human Resources at Wheelock College, where she has provided leadership for a full range of HR activities, policies, and processes. Dr. Fedo’s background has balanced work in both the corporate and business environments over many years with leadership in student affairs and services and colleges and universities. She has taught as an adjunct instructor in management, organizational behavior, and group dynamics at Boston University’s Metropolitan College, and was an instructor in education in the Framingham State College M.Ed. Program in Brasilia, Brazil. Dr. Fedo has served on accreditation teams with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and has been an active participant in programs sponsored by the Colleges of the Fenway since coming to Wheelock College in 2001.
Tan Hock-Guan

Tan Hock-Guan is an adjunct professor in Information Technology for Early Childhood Education. He has twenty-two years of teaching experience in Information Technology-related subjects and has been actively involved in promoting the use of Information Technology in Education and Training. He also has many years of experience in developing and implementing educational software and systems. Over the years, he has provided assistance to many faculties in designing and developing software to facilitate teaching and learning. He has also been advising schools and industries in the use of Information Technology and providing consultancy services to their computerization projects. He has written a number of conference papers and publications related to Educational Computing and Research and authored three textbooks on Information Technology. He is a long standing member of Singapore Computer Society and currently a senior lecturer at the School of InfoComm Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore.
Ho Seng Yong

Ho Seng Yong is the Deputy Director (Academic) of the Multidiscipline Engineering Division, School of Engineering, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. He has taught diploma students mathematics, statistics, and computer programming during his 23 years at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. As the Mathematics and Science Section Manager he introduced statistical software to enhance the teaching of statistics modules in 1996. He implemented the statistics modules in the School of Life Science and Chemical Technology in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Ho Seng Yong was a member of the Ministry of Education Mathematics Curriculum Review Committee in 1998/99. He represented polytechnics and sat in the Additional Mathematics Curriculum Working Committee and the Secondary School Mathematics Curriculum Working Committee. He was the Chairman of the Third Joint Polytechnic Mathematics Conference held in 2004. He also published a paper and presented it in the Fifth International Conference on Teaching of Statistics in 1998. He has completed two consultancy projects entitled Analysis of Voyage Data of Motor Ship “Samco Asia” for TEMSA Singapore Pte Ltd in 2006 and Analysis of Voyage Data of Motor Ship “Samco America” for TEMSA Singapore Pte Ltd in 2007.
Joseph Seet

Joseph Seet has been spearheading entrepreneurship development in Ngee Ann Polytechnic and currently oversees the Entrepreneurs-Connect@NP office. He developed the award winning Experiential Training for Entrepreneurship Development (EXTEND) model and mentored students in starting business ventures. Prior to his career in academia, he was a Group Finance and Administration Manager of a Japanese firm that drove successful business ventures in the region. Having recently earned his M.B.A. from the reputable Nanjing University, he brings with him a wealth of experience about starting and financing business ventures in China and is bilingual in English and Mandarin. He has delivered talks on Mandarin Radio Station 95.8 and conducted public lectures on the topic of Youth Entrepreneurship during the 2004 Singapore Youth Festival. As an educator, he has researched and published papers and lectured on experiential learning for youth entrepreneurship in Singapore and China. He was also awarded the “Igniting the Flame Award” for outstanding case presentation teaching under the Lifelong Learning for Entrepreneurship Education Professionals Program conducted at Syracuse University.
