Admissions & Program Fees
Admission Requirements
- Admission to the program is based on a well-rounded person. We seek qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds who see themselves as creative agents of change.
- Scholastic achievement with strong reading, writing, and mathematical competencies are critical. Each learner admitted into the program is required to attend scheduled Writing Clinic Sessions.
- A 2.3 (C+) cumulative grade-point average is the minimum acceptable standard for all undergraduates.
- This program is only available to Ngee Ann Polytechnic Diploma in Early Childhood Education graduates at this time.
Program Fees
The annual tuition for the 2007 cohort was:
- S$6,800 for Singapore citizens and permanent residents
- S$23,500 for foreign students.
In 2008, the annual tuition cost for the Program and Summer Immersion Program is to be determined. The Summer Immersion Program is a required element for the 2008 cohort. Tuition does not include the cost of the Summer Immersion Program, which is estimated at US$1,730.00 for four weeks. For details of what is included in this cost, please click here.
Application Procedure
Those interested in applying for admission to the 2008 cohort may do so through an on-line application, or by submitting a paper application via mail.
To apply for the Wheelock College Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Educational Studies and Leadership, please follow the instructions below:
1. Application – Visit https://apply.wheelock.edu/sing-np.asp to submit your application online. If you would prefer to download the application form and submit it by mail, you may do so here. Please note that the application fee must be paid to Ngee Ann Polytechnic before a candidate’s application will be reviewed. Contact the Wheelock College Center for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation–Singapore at (65) 6460 7323 for more information regarding the payment of fees.
2. Essay – Applicants must submit a double-spaced, two page essay responding to both of the following broad questions:
- Given the current concerns related to children and their families in Singapore, what educational issues are of particular interest to you?
- In what ways do you expect that the program offered by Wheelock College will contribute to your academic growth and professional development?
3. Letters of Reference – Two letters of reference are required. They should either be academic in nature, from a faculty member who is familiar with the applicant’s academic work, or from a professional source who can discuss the applicant’s occupation and/or relevant experience. References from family members and/or friends are not acceptable. Please note that additional letters of reference may be requested at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. All references must be submitted in sealed envelopes with the evaluator’s signature and applicant’s name printed across the back flap. While an evaluator may draft a letter on his or her own letterhead, we do require that the Reference Form be submitted as well. Click here to download the Reference Form.
4. Academic Records (official transcripts) – Learners applying for admission to the Wheelock College Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Educational Studies and Leadership must hold a Ngee Ann Polytechnic Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Applicants must present official transcripts from their diploma studies at the time of application.

Any applicant still taking courses or completing the diploma program at the time of application may be eligible for conditional acceptance. A follow-up transcript showing final grades and diploma subsequently obtained must be submitted when available.
5. Resume – Work experience and career progression are important factors that will be considered by the Admissions Committee. Resumes should be submitted in a professional format and include contact information, educational background, work experience, and skills.

All application materials, once submitted to the Center for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation, become the property of Wheelock College. Incomplete applications, as well as applications for learners who have been admitted and do not register or who have been denied, will be kept on file for one year from the time of application or admission decision.
