When Lucy Wheelock founded the College in 1888 she wrote, “Plant in the land of children whatever you wish to put in the life of our times” and left a legacy of inspired action. This pledge has not wavered in more than a century. Today, Wheelock College is a private institution with a public mission, to improve the education and lives of children and their families. Graduates of our programs are recognized nationally and internationally for their exemplary caliber, steadfast dedication, and academic and professional expertise in educational theory and practice.
