South Carolina Program

Master of Science in Elementary Education (1-6) for Initial licensure

Wheelock College is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and the elementary program is reviewed for national recognition by the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI). Graduates of the master’s program apply independently to The South Carolina Department of Education for licensure, having completed the required Praxis tests as part of the program. Graduates who spend a summer in Boston and complete a practicum in Massachusetts, and have passed the Massachusetts Test for Teacher Licensure, are eligible for institutional endorsement for Initial Elementary Teacher (1-6) licensure in Massachusetts.
