Newest Wheelock Alumni Graduate in Singapore

On Saturday, December 13th, 2008, more than 220 learners graduated from Wheelock College programs offered in collaboration with the Regional Training and Resource Centre in Early Childhood Care and Education for Asia (RTRC Asia) in Singapore. President Jackie Jenkins-Scott and Joan M. Bergstrom, Ed.D., Professor and Director of the Wheelock College Center for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation, were present at the ceremony to confer degrees and assist in celebrating the achievements of these dedicated learners.
Candidates in the December 13th graduation ceremony completed the following Wheelock College programs offered with RTRC Asia in Singapore:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education
- Diploma in Preschool Education–Leadership
- Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
- Master of Science in Early Childhood Education with a Focus on Inclusion and Special Education
Each learner is equipped to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families throughout Southeast Asia as they continue their careers in the early childhood field in Singapore or across the region.
The Wheelock College Center for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation has been collaborating with RTRC Asia to offer diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s programs since 1991. More than 2,000 learners have graduated from these collaborative program offerings and the partnership continues to grow. This speaks volumes as to the passion and commitment that Singaporean early childhood educators have in upgrading their professional knowledge and qualifications.
