Four New Coaches to Guide Wildcats
October 25, 2010
Wheelock's Athletics Department named four new head coaches for the 2010-2011 academic year, including the school's first women's lacrosse coach. Julie Fox joined Wheelock as head softball coach. As the head softball coach for the past four springs at nearby Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Fox's charges broke 19 records while earning a pair of conference sportsmanship awards. Kristin Murphy joined Wheelock as the head men's and women's cross country coach. As a runner with the Boston Athletic Association, Murphy has competed around the country and New England. Elizabeth Sullivan was named head coach for women's lacrosse. A former Division 1 player at Johns Hopkins University, Sullivan, now a lawyer in the Boston area, helped the squad go 33-20 in three years. Emilio Zamalloa, Wheelock's new head men's tennis coach, has been an instructor in the Boston area since 2001, serving as the head pro for adult programs at the Tennis Academy at Harvard University.
