Living in the New Normal

Wheelock College convened a professional development day, Living in the New Normal (LINN): Helping Children Thrive through Good and Challenging Times-InstituteTM on April 5 and 6, 2012 in partnership with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)®.
This two-day, graduate-level institute outlined specific community resources, deployment information, and practical strategies for encouraging resilience in the children of military-connected families. Institute participants created a plan for implementing resilience skills and local resources.
Wheelock will convene a second professional development opportunity on May 18, 2012, Military Child Education Coalition® Living in the New Normal (LINN): Helping Children Thrive through Good and Challenging Times-PracticumTM for Parents, Childcare Practitioners, Educators, Family Readiness Group Leaders, Other Concerned Adults, Graduate Students, Undergraduate Juniors and Seniors. This PracticumTM is designed for Family Readiness Group Leaders, first responders, parents, childcare practitioners, and other concerned adults to gain knowledge and tools to develop resilient military-connected children who will better be able to meet the challenges of deployment and separation.
