How to Make a Request | ILL for National, Regional and International Students

The Wheelock College Library offers InterLibrary Loan (ILL) and Document Delivery services to all current students, faculty, staff and administrators of the College. These services are also available to alumni with a current library card. There is no charge for these services. Requests are limited to seven items per person per week.

Materials that are available through ILL include: books (other than reference, reserve or rare books), most kits and curriculum materials, and some music CDs and cassettes. Theses and dissertations, tests, reference books, software, videos, and most other audio-visual materials are not usually available through ILL, though every effort will be made to borrow needed material. Articles will be received as photocopies or faxes and need not be returned.

Request your items early; please allow at least two weeks for items to arrive.  You will be notified when your requests arrive and they will be held for you at the Reference Desk. Please pick up your items promptly as due dates are set by the lending library and renewals are not always possible. If you need a renewal, please contact the Reference Staff before the item is due. How to Make a Request

Note: Please be aware that requests are limited to seven (7) items per person per week.

For books
You can request items from other FLO libraries via the FLO online catalog. If the item is not available via FLO, use the online ILL book request form to request the item now.

For articles
Check to see if the article source (journal, magazine, newspaper) is available at Wheelock or from another FLO library. To do this:

• check the journal title in the Full-Text Journal Finder
• do a title search for the journal title(not article title) in the FLO online catalog.

If the periodical is not available use the ILL article request form to request the article.

If the item is available from another FLO library, it will usually arrive within seven working days. If it is not available from a FLO library, it can take up to 2-6 weeks to arrive. You will be contacted when the material is available.

ILL for National, Regional and International Students

National, regional and international students who would like to borrow materials that are at Wheelock (or any other library) can utilize the InterLibrary Loan services offered by their local public and/or affiliate library. If you are unable to find resources you need for your Wheelock coursework at your local or affiliate library, please ask them about obtaining materials through interlibrary loan. Policies will vary, so plan your time accordingly.
