Student Library Research Survey
Thank you for helping us evaluate the Library's resources and services.
Virtual Reference: New Resource at the Library
As part of its growing Virtual Reference collection, the Library has recently acquired 36 new online reference titles. Each electronic book (eBook) is viewable online and searchable; you can also search multiple eBooks simultaneously. The eBooks have been linked to the FLO catalog, so they will be included in search results for similar materials.
These titles are significant additions to the Wheelock College Library collection, which will greatly enhance the community’s research options and support many curriculum areas of the College. The titles are in the areas of American Studies, Arts, Business, General Reference, Health/Child Life, Literature, Philosophy/Religion, Psychology/Human Development, Science, and Sociology/Anthropology. We hope you find them as valuable as we do, and we welcome your comments and feedback.
If you would like to learn more about how to use the library's new Virtual Reference titles, please contact the reference desk at x2222 or e-mail reference@wheelock.edu. We would also be happy to incorporate these resources into library instruction sessions.
JFK Library Membership
Wheelock is now a member of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum as part of their Library to Library program. This membership entitles members of the Wheelock community to free admission to the museum and a 10% discount on all purchases at the museum store. The Kennedy Library is located on Columbia Point in Boston, and is accessible via the MBTA Red Line. Passes to the JFK Library and Museum are available at the main desk on floor 1 of the Wheelock College Library.

Titles in the online catalog now include
tables of contents
Many of the titles in the library's online catalog have been enhanced to
include a table of contents. This enables you to get a sense of what a book

Read about our new library catalog, new web site and our new print management system.
There have been a number of changes to the Library over the past summer.
New Online Catalog
The Library’s new online catalog has arrived, featuring a modern look and
improved capabilities. We have replaced our outdated catalog with the
state-of-the-art Voyager system. This change will enable the Library staff
to provide you with better service, as well as allowing you to view your own
account information and renew items online.
Wheelock Library Web Site
The Wheelock College Library introduces our new web site, with a fresh
design and improved functionality. The reorganized site includes both
updated and original content. Recommended web sites are now searchable by
subject, enabling users to pinpoint appropriate resources with efficiency.
From the Library, dorm room, office, or at home, the new site provides you
with easy access to databases that contain full-text articles and citations
from journals. The web site features a section for faculty where they can
view specialized content and utilize online services such as creating course
reserves. There is also the Look It Up section, devoted exclusively to
helping members of the Wheelock community find the information resources
they need. We hope you find the new web site helpful. Please let us know if
you have any questions or comments.
GoPrint
Now printing your paper at the Wheelock College Library is both easier and
more efficient. With our new print system, after you request that documents
be printed at your own computer, you then proceed to the GoPrint release
station, where you use the touch screen monitor to select and print only the
documents you need. You have the option to send your print job to any of the
three library printers (in the computer lab or the reference floor), and
anything you decided not to print is deleted from the system after an hour.
We hope that this new print station will save you valuable time and effort.
