Laptops and Tablets

The Earl Center lends laptops and iPads.  They are loaded with Wheelock College's standard suite of programs. 
Who can check out laptops and tablets from the Earl Center?
  • Current Wheelock College faculty, staff, or student in good standing. 
Availability and Loan period
  • There are 10 tablets (iPads) and 5 laptops (Macbook Airs) available on a first come, first served basis.
  • They can be checked out for 2 hours, with a renewal period of 1 hour when no one else is waiting for them, and must be used within the Earl Center.  A Wheelock ID will be held at the Service Desk while the laptop is being used at the Earl Center.  
Policies

The full set of policies for borrowing laptops and tablets from the Earl Center can be found on the Laptop/Tablet Loan Policies and Agreement Form.  Prior to each checkout, you must review the form and agree to abide by the policies listed and to pay full repair and/or replacement costs in the case of damage, theft, or loss.   

Suggesting or Requesting an App

If you would like to suggest or request an app to be installed, contact the Assistant Director of the Earl Center, Mare Parker O'Toole, at mparker-otoole@wheelock.edu.  Decisions are made based on the Earl Center collection development policies; it may not be possible to implement all requests.
