Brattleboro Museum exhibits drawing by Professor Greg Gomez
December 15, 2009
"Twin Loops" by Professor Greg Gomez is one of the many drawings currently on exhibition at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center in Brattleboro, Vt. The show, "Drawing Itself: A Survey of Contemporary Practice" is an inclusive exhibition that explores both drawing as process and drawing as a fulfilled art form.
"Drawing Itself" features drawings by artists working in a variety of mediums including graphite, watercolor, artist's crayon, wash, collage, acrylic, charcoal, and ink—as well as video and installation.
"Twin Loops" is a charcoal on paper preparatory sketch for a future sculpture.
Professor Gomez has exhibited his work in New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston. Both his paintings and his sculptures serve as the confluence of images from many diverse sources including Pre-Columbian pictographs, scientific imagery, and ancient cartography.
