Major motion picture filmed at Wheelock

Columbia Pictures selected Wheelock's campus to shoot scenes for the upcoming film, Social Network. The scenes will feature the Campus Center and Student Residence and its adjacent quad.

As part of the preparation for filming, the film crew filled the quad with faux snow.

Based on Ben Mezrich's book, Accidental Billionaires, Social Network is the story about the founding of the social media network Facebook. Founded in a Harvard dorm room in 2004, Facebook is the most widely-used social networking site in the world.

Directed by David Fincher, the cast includes Emmy award-winner Justin Timberlake, star of the recently released film Zombieland, Jesse Eisenberg, and Andrew Garfield, cast member of the films  Lions for Lambs and the Other Boleyn Girl.

Timberlake will play Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster and founding president of Facebook, while Eisenberg will portray Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg with Garfield as Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.
