Disability Services

For Students -- Using Disability Services

Registration:

To initiate services, students must provide the office with documentation of a disability. Disability Services Guidelines in pdf provides information on how to register.

After submitting documentation, students should set up an initial interview with the Coordinator of Disability Services. This interview will allow the student to become familiar with the Disability Services office and will provide an opportunity to discuss individual needs and accommodations. Reasonable accommodations will usually be determined at this time. See the list of Accommodations and Services.

Semester updates:

Each semester, students should meet with the Coordinator of Disability Services to update information and to request accommodation letters. Students are encouraged to meet with instructors to discuss individual needs in specific courses. Please note that accommodation letters do not carry over from one semester to the next. Students must request letters each semester to continue to receive accommodations.

Ongoing support:

The Coordinator of Disability Services and others in the Office of Academic Advising & Assistance are available for regular meetings throughout the semester to address individual needs.

Workshops and Seminars:

The Office of Academic Advising & Assistance regularly conducts workshops about academic support topics including time management, test taking, and study skills. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities. Please contact Coordinator of Disability Services for more information.
