Center for Career Development

Students & Alumni -- Services, Resources, and Programs

The Center for Career Development provides numerous career initiatives to assist students and alumni at all stages of their career development process, including employment, graduate school, and professional development. Students who begin using the services provided by the Center for Career Development early in their educational experience have a better understanding of the job market, are well-prepared for the job search process, and are successful in finding a job that matches their interests. The Center also provides services and resources to support educational and professional endeavors. Alumni are encouraged to access resources and to participate in programs beyond graduation.

Important Note: All correspondence, including information about career services, resources, and programs, vacancy announcements, and interview schedules, are sent to students' Wheelock email addresses. Students who would like to participate in programs sponsored by the Center are required to use their Wheelock email.

Alumni who would like to receive email correspondence from the Center for Career Development are encouraged to register with the center.

RESUME/COVER LETTER REVIEW

A member of the career staff will discuss and review your resume and cover letter during an individual appointment. Following this initial meeting, students may email a revised copy of their resume and cover letter to the staff for a second review. Our email address is: ccd@wheelock.edu.

Recognizing that Wheelock alumni are located around the country, alumni may utilize this service without a first appointment.

The career staff makes every effort to respond with comments and suggestions to each email request within three business days.

CAREER PROGRAMS

The Center for Career Development sponsors numerous events throughout the academic year to help you with your job search or graduate school search. On-campus Recruiting Program

The On-Campus Recruiting program is designed to provide seniors, graduate students, and alumni with opportunities to conveniently interview with employers here on campus.

The Center for Career Development collaborates with employers to schedule a visit date for on-campus interviews. Students and alumni are invited to submit their resumes to the Center for Career Development. Resumes are forwarded to employers for screening. Through a pre-screening process, employers select candidates for interviews.

Over 200 employers from Massachusetts, New England, and across the United States will be invited to participate in the On-Campus Recruiting program. On-campus visits begin in the fall and continue through the spring.
