CAREER PATHS OF FAMILY STUDIES GRADUATES
Students who earn a degree in Family Studies generally have a wide array of career options. The graduate programs in Family Studies are unique in that students often create their own career paths working with populations that interest them in a wide range of environments. Depending upon the focus of your academic program and specific interests, you may be employed in a variety of human service or educational settings.
Recent graduates are working a direct service providers, policy makers, administrative leaders, home visitors, parenting educators, program directors in early childhood centers and community agencies, advocates, and journalists.
Alumni are employed in various local, regional, and national agencies, including Families First (MA), Jewish Family & Children's Services (MA), YWCA of Greater Portland (ME), Successful Parenting (FL), Orange County's United Way (CA).

Informational Interviewing One of the best sources of gathering information about what's happening in an industry is to talk to people working in the field. This process is called informational interviewing.
