The Education of Black Male Youth
Third Annual Lecture and Workshop Series
Sponsored by Wheelock College and the Aspire Institute of Wheelock College
New dates! Series begins November 5!
Now in its third year, The Education of Black Male Youth aims to
inform and engage practitioners, academics, and community members about the
challenges confronting Black male youth today.
The theme for this year’s series is “Promising Practices: Advancing the Academic, Social, and Emotional Development of Black Male Youth.” The intention of this community dialogue is to respond to the gripping urgency of educating Black male K-12 students by using an affirmative development approach. Our aim is to underscore the critical role that school and community can play to advance the academic, social, and emotional development of Black male youth. An energized partnership between school and community can make the difference in the lives of Black male youth. In the end, the outcome will be youth that are resilient, socially responsible, and academically proficient.

This series consists of evening lectures open to the public followed
