Meet the Coach

Cory Tusler enters his first season as Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Wheelock College. In 05 -06 Tusler spent one season assisting the Men's Tennis program at Boston University. Tusler served as the head coach at Bentley College for the past 14 seasons.

During his time at the helm of the Bentley program, he led the Falcons to more than 145 victories and his teams were regularly in the hunt for the Northeast-10 Conference championship.

Tusler’s teams, 145-92 overall in 15 years, captured the NE-10 regular season championship three times and the NE-10 playoff crown once. Bentley made two appearances in the NCAA tournament, and Tusler was the voted the Northeast-10 Coach of the Year in 1995.

Tusler, a member of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and former member ot the NCAA Division II Ranking Committee, was formerly the tennis director at the Woodland Golf Club in Newton.

Prior to Bentley, he served as the assistant women’s coach at Harvard University (1989-90), assisting the Crimson to a share of the Ivy League title, and prior to Harvard, as assistant head coach at Wellesley College (1985-86), where his team won the Seven Sister Tournament title and the number one doubles team qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships. He is the former Head Professional and Tennis Director at the Sportsmen’s Tennis Club coaching eight club juniors for a good will tour of the Soviet Union and host Coach for the Central Latvian Tennis Team on a tour through Washington, DC. He coached the New England National 16’s Zonal Team in St. Louis in the summer of 1999.

Tusler also served as Bentley’s head women’s tennis coach from 1991-99, amassing a 50-70-1 record, including back-to-back 10-win seasons in 1997-98 and 1998-99.

Tusler is a 1979 graduate of Lyndon State College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Recreational Management. While at Lyndon, he served as a team captain in tennis and was twice a NAIA District Doubles Finalist.
