Wheelock World Service Weekend

April 20 - 22, 2012

Wheelock World Service Weekend aims to unite students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the College in a weekend of service to their communities. By coming together to perform volunteer activities in different parts of the country and the world, on one weekend, Wheelock community members will make a powerful collective statement about the College's commitment to service.

Wheelock World Service Weekend will strengthen our ties to each other while contributing to our mission to improve the lives of children and families. We need your help to make Wheelock World Service Weekend a success! Please help us inspire a world of good!

Alumni and Friends: Get Involved!

Alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of Wheelock can get involved by volunteering to become a Team Leader, joining an existing service project, supporting a student project, and spreading the word!

Lead: As a Team Leader, you will work with Wheelock community members to plan and execute a service project of your choosing. If you are interested and would like to learn more about becoming a Team Leader, please email worldserviceday@wheelock.edu.

Volunteer: Alumni and friends can also choose to volunteer at an existing service site. New sites will be added as they are confirmed and online registration will remain open until early April.

Spread the Word: Talk to your friends, students, and/or fellow alumni about the purpose of this event. Feel free to call the Alumni Office at 617-879-2286 with any questions.

Students: Get Involved!

Students can to get involved by creating a WWSW logo, volunteering on the weekend, or becoming a Team Leader!

Lead: As a Team Leader, you will work with Wheelock community members to plan and execute a service project of your choosing. We are asking that students have a faculty or staff member sign off on their project and recruit at least two volunteers before submitting their proposal. If you are interested and would like to learn more about becoming a Team Leader, please email worldserviceday@wheelock.edu.

Volunteer: If you would like to join other members of the Wheelock community by signing up to volunteer at one of the existing sites, please visit the online registration page.

Create: We would love to increase student involvement by asking them to create a World Service Weekend logo that will be used on t-shirts and event marketing materials. (Click here to download a logo contest poster with all the details.) Deadline: Monday, March 9, 2012. The winner will receive some Wheelock swag!
