Welcome to Wheelock Magazine on the Web! Here you will find the latest news on how Wheelock students, faculty, and alumni are helping to "Inspire a World of Good."
For the Summer 2016 edition, we introduce you to Dr. David J. Chard, 14th President of Wheelock College. Dr. Chard joins Wheelock from Southern Methodist University (SMU), where he served as the inaugural dean of its Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development. Dr. Chard discusses how his previous roles prepared him for the presidency, why he decided it was time to leave SMU, how he relates to Wheelock's mission to improve the lives of children and families, and outlines his vision for the future of the College.
The magazine also includes everything you want to know about Commencement 2016 and our terrific Reunion Weekend (complete with a full list of Alumni Awards).
You will also find articles about:
- Fascinating research conducted by Dr. Nada Dabbagh, Earl Learning Technology Consultant, on the topic of integrating technology into teaching;
- The phenomenal success of Wheelock's first Giving Day;
- Professor Sara Levine's imaginative new science book for children, Tooth by Tooth;
- The growth of online learning technology at Wheelock;
- And much more!
The Magazine also shines a Spotlight on other students, faculty, and alumni who are making a difference, as well as updates about your former classmates in the Class Notes section.
