International Application Process

Wheelock College welcomes applications from international students for either the spring or fall semesters. We look forward to providing information, answering questions, and helping you to explore the opportunities available to you at Wheelock. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

How to Apply

  1. Fill out and submit a completed application. You can submit the Wheelock paper application (download below), the paper Common Application or the Online Common Application. Wheelock College gives equal consideration to the Wheelock application and Common Application.

    Please also submit:
  2. Non-refundable application fee ($45 for a paper application or $15 for an on-line application) in U.S. currency.
  3. A copy of a graded paper you have written in English within the past year. It should be a minimum of 250 words and can be on any subject. Some examples are an English composition, a history thesis, a psychology report, or a literary critique. If you have been out of school for more than two years, write a personal statement, 250–400 words in length, explaining why you wish to attend Wheelock College. Wheelock College will accept the Common Application essay in place of a graded writing sample.
  4. Official high school transcripts (translated into English if necessary) and a secondary school report.
  5. Official SAT/ACT scores or official TOEFL scores if English is not your native language. (Minimum TOEFL scores: 500 Paper Based, 173 Computer Based and 61 Internet Based)
  6. Academic recommendation.
  7. Financial verification form.
  8. Official bank statement.

Regular Decision: March 1, 2008

Early Action

Students who are interested in learning about their admission decision early in the application cycle may apply under the Early Action Plan. Students must submit their application and credentials by the December 1 deadline and are notified of the admission decision by January 1. The tuition deposit must be submitted by May 1.

Regular Decision

The deadline for regular decision applications is March 1. Wheelock uses rolling admissions and students will be notified of a decision within 4 weeks of completing their application. The tuition deposit must be submitted by May 1.

Wheelock Tuition

International students are not eligible for federal financial aid. International students may be eligible for Wheelock grant money based on SAT/ACT or TOEFL scores and grade point average.

Jobs for International Students after Graduation

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is available to international students who have completed their course of study at Wheelock College. The employment must be directly related to the student's major area of study. Temporary employment for practical training must be completed within a 14 month period following the completion of study. Talk to the registrar 6 months prior to graduation.
