Early Childhood Education Major / Birth to 5 Specialist, Infant-Toddler Focus / 44 credits

Birth-5 Specialist, Infant/Toddler provides a variety of options for students interested in working with very young children in early child care, family day care, and other ECE settings, such as museums, publishing firms, and resource and referral agencies. Students interested in teaching in early care settings may use courses and experiences in this program as they apply to the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) for the Lead Teacher credential. Students complete two practica with children birth to 5-years old. The full time practicum is in an infant/toddler setting. Students follow the same pre-practicum preparation required for all Early Childhood Care and Education majors.

Students are required to major in Human Development with a Developmental Psychology focus as their Liberal Arts/Sciences Major.
