Reviews social and communication challenges, specific augmentative and alternative communication strategies for children with autism spectrum disorders. Offers experience in functional communication training and social skills curriculum, including use of social stories and video modeling, pivotal response treatment and peer-mediated interventions. Students will research and utilize numerous evidence based intervention strategies.
