New Orleans, LA, Service Learning Trip

January 2013

Working with Habitat for Humanity, Wheelock students have helped rebuild, repair, and repaint homes in New Orleans, LA, that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina. In addition, volunteers have learned about the civic challenges that the devastation of Hurricane Katrina made visible, such as: failure to maintain health and safety, neglect of entire areas of the city, and slow government response to the crisis.

This trip is offered as part of a spring semester course. For more information, contact Prof. Barbara Rosenquest at brosenquest@wheelock.edu.
