Wheelock College Professional Development OpportunitiesDesigned for today's busy professional, Wheelock's Conferences, Workshops, and Professional Development Institutes are intensive programs that can help you boost your skills, advance your career, and earn undergraduate or graduate credit and/or valuable Professional Development Points (PDPs) or Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Most of our Professional Development Institutes (PDIs) are offered evenings and weekends on a compressed schedule, which may be as short as two sessions. Some also include an online component, allowing you to gain the benefits of face-to-face learning while reducing the time you spend commuting.

Wheelock's Conferences, Workshops, and PDIs are designed for nonprofit leaders, school principals, teachers, early childhood and other education professionals, social workers, child life specialists, and others dedicated to improving the lives of children and families.

Earn College Credit or Professional Development Credit

Offered at both Graduate and Undergraduate levels, PDIs are available for varying credit amounts (1-4 credits) and can be taken for Professional Development Points (PDPs) or Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required for various licensure maintenance. Higher PDPs are awarded when a course is taken for credit than for non-credit. Participants are eligible to receive 22.5 PDPs per academic course  credit when the course is taken for credit or 12 PDPs per course credit when it is taken for non-credit. One graduate level academic credit is equal to 12 contact hours.

Most of our conferences and workshops also offer PDPs and CEUs and contact hours.
