Scholarship Opportunity

Wheelock is currently offering a 25% tuition scholarship to current employees of nonprofit organizations who enroll in January 2014 for our accelerated program. This scholarship will be applied to the full cost of the program. Students who enroll in this accelerated program will be able to complete the full master's degree in one-and-a-half years, instead of the usual two years.

The program curriculum is grounded by a four-course foundation:

  • ORL 510 Organizational Mission, Strategy, and Leadership
  • ORL 530 Program Planning and Evaluation
  • ORL 620 Organizational Governance
  • ORL 531 Nonprofit Budgeting and Financial Management

Students who complete this foundational sequence will be awarded a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership.

Additional courses required for a master's degree include Organizational Governance and Organizational Change.

Students will also complete a two-semester Capstone Project. This group project will consist of applied research in a specialized area of interest, providing students with a critical learning experience as they seek to address an identified organizational priority, issue, or service delivery challenge.

Finally, students will choose two elective courses that cover a variety of topics such as:

    • Effective Nonprofit Communication
    • Policy Practice
    • Resource Development
    • Entrepreneurship for Nonprofits
