Certificate in Parenting Education Curriculum
Open to all graduate and non-degree students, this 15-credit program is designed for professionals who work with parents and families in a variety of settings, including in schools, at home, and in the community. The curriculum can be completed in one to two years, depending on course load. Students in several Master's programs often can combine the Certificate within their Master's program. These programs are Child Life Advanced Standing, Educational Studies, and Early Childhood Continuing Practitioner.
HDF 515 Lifespan Development II: Adult Development (3 credits)
CFS 614 Perspectives on Parenting (3 credits)
CFS 737 Working with Parents (3 credits)
CFP 603 Practicum and Seminar I: Family Studies (3 credits)
Students select an additional 3 credits from among HDF or CFS course offerings with support from their academic advisor.
