Master of Science in Educational Studies: Elementary Education

The Master of Science in Educational Studies: Elementary Education is open to students who would like to pursue a master’s degree but are not interested in obtaining licensure as a teacher of elementary students.  Applicants to this program often want to work in alternative settings such as museums, educational outdoor programs, camps and after-school initiatives.  The program of study requires students to develop a strong knowledge of child development and to develop a specialty area in literacy, mathematics, science, special education or English language learners.  Students are also required to complete an educational research project and to take two of our signature courses.
